From Home Maker To Traveller

I grew up in Kolkata, India. I was not a big traveller per se. Just a few family vacations during school holidays were the most I was exposed to. They were not enough to open my eyes to big travelling and exploration. I even went on a trip to Thailand in college and had good fun. But all was within limitations and boundations of our guide and teachers. It still did not awaken the sleeping monster inside of me that would induce the travelling spree.

I was married at an early age of 23. And we went to Greece on our honeymoon and that was IT. Since, I have not been able to resist not travelling. Eventually over 10 years of travelling and the nick still persists without any signs of saturation. If anything, it’s heightened than ever before. Now knowing the length, breadth, and scope of travel, it is impossible for me to step back and reconsider other options.

Infact, we are now a travel family of 3. Our son being our biggest inspiration. Showing him the world and moulding him into an individual with beliefs that are limitless and beyond boundaries has become a goal for us now. Everyday I really appreciate the chance that life has bestowed on me by shunning my career possibilities in the corporate world.

We have covered 15 countries since 2015. Few of them delighted us to an extent that we ended up revisiting them more than once. For me, travelling is not about ticking off the number of countries but experiencing the culture, food, heritage, history and life within it, in it’s entirety. And that is the reason I end up revisiting most of the places, because once is not enough. That is what you will find in my blogs too.

It was a day in 2023, when I got an idea to start travel writing. It was right then I began working on this website. @dilghoome has been like a dormant dream lying within the confines of me ever since but it was now that I was ready to unleash it to the world.

It is now my mission to help people like myself uncover the beauty that lies within our only home, Earth. Travel is beyond beliefs, beyond religions, beyond boundaries. It liberates your soul and you are relishing in every moment.
